This quaint restaurant is off the beaten path but donโt let that stop you from visiting. The food & service was top notch here. I happen to love this type of restaurant with great breakfast options. There are daily specials on the board & desserts that are made in house. As you will see the bread pudding w/raisins was a large serving & swirling with cinnamon throughout. I opted for a meal off the daily specials. The chicken & macaroni salad were both yummy. My nephew especially loved adding their amazing onion rings on top of his hamburger. When in Salem, this is a great stop for a meal.

We have eaten here before and liked it, but it seems to have changed. Gone was the welcoming atmosphere. No hello. No welcome. Felt like we were intruding. I decided to have biscuits and gravy. The waitress just bluntly said, "We're out, order anything else." No smile, no apology. I asked for extra crispy bacon with eggs and home fries. The whole thing came out over cooked. Was not very good at all. They charged 50 cents extra per egg, claiming excessive egg costs. Talk about gouging! That's a $6 per dozen increase! I might have been born at night, but it wasn't last night.

The food was delicious. Everyone in my party enjoyed it. The coffee was great. Our waitress gave us fast service. But never once made me feel rushed. She answered all questions we had. The restaurant was clean. The only bad thing I would say is they could update their furniture. Or make the ascetics of the establishment match how good the food and service is. But all and all I would come back here.

Love their breakfast and their home-fries and pancakes are the best! Best place for salt-restricted folks because they don't salt their eggs or fries. I appreciate that.
